Campus Payroll Services is responsible for managing payroll obligations arising from employment services to the university The department also maintains personnel information for all Academic and Administrative personnel. While the most obvious function of the campus payroll services is issuing payments to staff and faculty, the department is also responsible for a multitude of backend payroll services such as tax withholding and payments, insurance and benefits payments, garnishment, annual W-2s, many legal and procedural functions as well as providing data for other computing services.

Phased Retirement Program (PRP)
The Phased Retirement Program enables eligible Career Staff members (except the Senior Management Group) to voluntarily reduce their working time and corresponding pay in exchange for a lump sum incentive upon retirement at the end of participation.

Information on the Transition Assistance Program & Biweekly Pay Cycle Standardization

Effective April 1, 2012, UC Merced will make available two types of Transition Assistance Programs for eligible non-exempt career or contract employee impacted by the July 1, 2012 conversion from monthly to biweekly pay cycles.

The Vacation Cash Out Program is an exception to the policy, vacation leave/comp time cash out of up to 40 hours.  The request period is currently open and will close on June 22, 2012 by 5pm.  Employees will need to submit the completed Vacation Cash Out Application to Payroll Services.  Upon approval, the disbursements of the funds will be made available on July 18, 2012.

The Loan Program is an interest free loan with a minimum amount of $100.00 and a maximum amount of $1000.  The request period will begin April 1, 2012 and close on June 22, 2012 by 5pm.  Employees will need to submit the completed Loan Program Application to Payroll Services.  Upon approval, the disbursements of the funds will be made available on July 18, 2012.
