We are a team of payroll professionals dedicated to providing excellent services to our faculty, staff, students, post doctorals, lecturers and scholars. We are committed to the University's mission and dedicate our services: ​

  • to ensure timely and accurate administration of payroll in accordance with Federal, State and University rules, regulations and policies
  • administering and remitting employee deductions
  • training staff of the payroll systems and updating the campus community to the changes in rules, regulations and policies
  • promoting the use of online self service for tax withholding, direct deposit enrollment/change, earning statements and W-2

Central Payroll Office Will No Longer Offer Office Hours on Campus on Fridays - Effective February 17, 2017, Central Payroll Office will no longer hold office hours on campus ​in KL 201. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can be reached by phone, 209-228-2729, or via email at centralpayroll@ucmerced.edu​.

2017 W-2 and Form 1095-C / 1095-B - If you had elected for electronic W-2 and 1095-C, it is available now and you may log into At Your Service Online (AYSO) to retrieve your W-2.  If you had elected for paper W-2, it will be mailed post marked by January 31, 2017. Electronic 1095-C are currently available on AYSO. Paper 1095-C and Form 1095-B (generated by the insurance carrier) will be mailed post marked by March 2, 2017.  It is not necessary to wait for the Form 1095-B / 1095-C to file your taxes.

Important Information About the Earned Income Tax Credit and Your W-2 - We have received notification from UCOP regarding the passage of AB 1847, requiring employers to notify ​all employees that they may be eligible for Federal or California Earned Income tax Credit (EITC). The Federal EITC is a refundable Federal Income Tax Credit for low-income working individuals and families. Increase in OASDI Limit in 2017 for OASDI - Effective January 1, 2017, the OASDI Limit will increase from $118,500 in 2016 to $127,200 in 2017. There are no changes to the Medicare rates.

The rate does not reflect the additional 0.9 percent in Medicare taxes certain high-income taxpayers are required to pay. See IRS information on this topic.
